Walking towards the Cure

JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. Driven by passionate, grassroots volunteers connected to children, adolescents, and adults with this disease, JDRF is now the largest charitable supporter of T1D research. The goal of JDRF research is to improve the lives of all people affected by T1D by accelerating progress on the most promising opportunities for curing, better treating, and preventing T1D. JDRF's research mission is to discover, develop and deliver advances that cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes (T1D).

The Walk to Cure Diabetes is JDRF’s largest community fundraiser, bringing together nearly one million participants across the U.S. annually. In 2010, walkers raised $73 million nationally, almost half of JDRF’s total public contributions for the year!

It is also fun! The Walk draws friends, family members and coworkers together in a healthy activity for a worthy cause. Join efforts with your community to make a real difference in the lives of people living with type 1 diabetes. It is a chance to take action and do something positive!
